Hi! You are VISITOR number

Reading Comprehension.

Relief Teaching - Reading ComprehensionThere is nothing like a well designed reading comprehension passage to create active engagement. When I am relief teaching active engagement is my single most important goal.

PLUS putting together a good exercise take heaps of YOUR time - you want kids to spend 10x the effort you put into the activity.

This reading comprehension activity is part of my Walking With Dinosaurs teaching kit coming later in June but it is a stand alone exercise that can be used without the kit.

The best way to handle a reading comprehension text is to use it as a teaching exercise. That is, read it silently, out loud, to your friend and generally unpack the text as much as possible. Use the text as a teachable moment.

There are three parts to this passage.

  1. The READING PASSAGE and the question- This is about Sauropods.
  2. A CLOSURE passage where students must use the correct word and
  3. A WORD SEARCH used in conjunction with the CLOSURE. If the word in the CLOSURE is not correct, it will not appear in the WORD SEARCH.

Help yourself to these files but remember to keep a look out for the WWD Kit later in the month.
